Peterson in New Threads Shuts Out The Clinic Club

Wearing their new uniforms, the Vudoos shut out the Clinic Club in their final regular season game Sunday night.

The first period would not have too much action, due to a clogged neutral zone. Each goalie, Pete Peterson of the Vudoos and fill-in netminder Jeff Leidner of The Clinic Club would have their share of quality saves, but eventually, the Vudoos would crack Leidner, with a goal by Mike Cenatiempo from Tom "Godzilla" Godon, and they would take a 1-0 lead into the break. The shot totals would be 12-11 Vudoos.

Peterson would continue his stellar play in the second period, further stymieing The Clinic Club, but the Vudoos would not be able to put another past Leidner, and it would remain 1-0. The shot totals would now be 23-22 Vudoos.

Peterson would hold it down for another period, with some more stellar play, but the game would continue at its tense pace because Leidner would not concede another. Peterson would stifle The Clinic Club for a shutout on 35 saves, while the Vudoos would take it 1-0, for all three points, also leading on shots 36-35.

Pete Peterson (35 saves in a shutout) won the Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award.
