Vudoos Hang on For Win

The Vudoos would quickly go up when Rob Coffman fired low from between the top of the circle and the blue line. That goal would be canceled out when Scott Hanan scored from Kyle "The Arsonist" Argent, but the Vudoos would go into the second period ahead, and would increase their lead to 3-1 with Mark Schwanda high from Mike Cenatiempo. Cenatiempo from Tom "Godzilla" Godon was next, into the roof of the net, and now up 4-1, the Vudoos would appear like they could pull away from The Clinic Club, but "Gorgeous" Joe Gorgia would one-time from Alex Smondyrev to get The Club to down two going into the third period. Now with some momentum on their side, The Clinic Club would immediately cut further into their deficit when Kyle "The Arsonist" Argent would light up the Vudoos with a top corner goal from Hanan, and now it was the Vudoos who were unsure of themselves, only up one. Perhaps all it took was some reshuffling of lines to get things back in favor of the Vudoos, which is what Captain Jim Schwanda did, and it would pay off with Cenatiempo from Mark Schwanda as they shocked The Clinic Club with their in game adjustments. The Club would make an adjustment of their own, and Boris Zamolodchikov from Gorgeous Gorgia would bring it to a one goal game, which was the fifth difference of one goal in this exciting matchup. The next goal would be Coffman from Mark Schwanda for 6-4, but The Clinic Club didn't give up and would score late with Zamolodchikov from Richard Henry. Now 6-5 down, The Clinic Club attacked, and pulled Joe Lamberta for an extra man. They would get the puck in the Vudoos zone and nearly beat Pete Peterson for the equalizer, but he would hold it down long enough for Vudoos win by that 6-5 tally.

The Stateside Tap + Tavern Man of the Match Award was won by Rob Coffman and Mike Cenatiempo (each with 2G, 1A), and Mark Schwanda (1G, 2A).
