Vudoos Win First in Over a Month

The Vudoos beat the steady Rob Imbriaco for a 1-0 lead, but the Storm would find a way past the equally steady Pete Peterson when Tim "Bones" Jones scored. Jones got in on the action again when he assisted the next Storm goal, Patrick Quinn's on an odd-man rush. Now 2-1 to the Rain Makers, they would add another with Captain Lloyd "The Llama" Lisk going coast to coast. The defenseman swooped behind his own goal line and built up a full head of steam on his way down the left wing before he cut in on his backhand and roofed on Peterson. The Vudoos were up against it, or could be, if they didn't get the next goal, but Will "The Wild Card" Dimock made no buts about it when he matched Lisk with a coast to coast rush, culminating in a goal. Going into the third period, it was a Storm lead by the slimmest of margins, 3-2 which would be put up to the test after a Jones trip. Mark Schwanda, stalwart Vudoos defenseman, fired through traffic and into the cage past a stunned Imbriaco, who couldn't see it through the various bodies in front of him, and it was now all square. The Vudoos were now cooking, and Schwanda had the hot hand. Captain Gary Len urged his boys to get Schwanda the puck, and Adam Kelly did just that, with Schwanda rewarding Len's faith with a go ahead goal. Soon after, the Vudoos would put this game out of question and would go up two with Ray"Ziesse's Peanut Butter" Cup and his milk chocolately smooth follow through on a slap shot one timer from The Wild Card. 5-3 it was, and 5-3 was the final, as the Vudoos won with Mark Schwanda (2G) and Will "The Wild Card" Dimock (1G, 1A) splitting the Buffalo Wild wings Man of the Match Award.
