Archers Trounce Vudoo
Wednesday, November 28, 2018
The Archers have had a rough first half to their season, although they did finish that span (ten games) with a two game winning streak; their opponent, the Vudoo have also had a rough start to their first half of the season, but finished with two wins in three games coming into this one.
The Archers would strike first when Jason Fischbach beat Pete Peterson. The lead was doubled on a John Murphy blast, then Fischbach was assisted by Dan Seminara for his second goal of the night. That was the only action of the first period Vitaly Rivkin would have a calm first period.
Looking to change the dynamic of this one, the Vudoo scored on their first shift of the second period, when James Woods-Corwin used his smooth stick handling to get by the Archers and Rivkin, but Greg "The Chairman" Chierchie would finish from Michael "The Dachshund" Malarowski to cancel out Woods-Corwin's goal. The lead was now four when Dave Fischbach was able to put one in from The Chairman, and right off the faceoff, Dean Moakler was the beneficiary of a goal from The Dachshund. Now 6-1, the Archers would have to make sure they stayed sharp, but the Vudoo were still looking for something, although they would find nothing for the duration of the second period due to Rivkin playing big and taking up the space of Tom Thrun and Antonio Figueroa, stopping each with a pad and shoulder respectively.
The Archers got it to running time with Dan Seminara's goal, then The Chairman would get an assist on Seminara's second. The final goal of the night was The Dachshund's from Josh Sumoski, in what was a 9-1 win.
