Godzilla and Ziesse's Peanut Butter Cup Get Hat Tricks

The stars of this one were Tom "Godzilla" Godon and Ray "Ziesse's Peanut Butter Cup" Ziesse, but the Rink Rats were the team to jump out in front, with Nick Graham scoring from Bobby Tretola. The Vudoo tied it with a goal by their leading scorer, Mark Schwanda, then Godzilla wreaked havoc on the Rink Rats when he carved them up after a pass from one of his Vudoo teammates, getting his team ahead. Three penalties would follow, Tretola's rough, Graham's cross check, and Godzilla's rough, but Ziesse's Peanut Butter Cup got a power play goal to get it to 3-1. The Vudoo were planning to go into the second up by two, but Ziesse beat the buzzer to increase the lead, as the Rink Rats were blitzed and confused.

Vudoo Captain Gary Len opened the second period scoring from rookie Randy Stitt and Mark Schwanda, which was followed by a Ziesse hook and Graham hold, coincidental penalties. Long after Ziesse and Graham returned to the ice, the only other goal of the second came, Mark from Jim Schwanda. At 6-2, the Vudoo felt as comfortable as you could heading into the third period.

The Rink Rats wouldn't roll over and tap out, seen with a Graham goal from Vincent Falcicchio, but Godzilla scored from Ziesse to regain the four goal lead. Graham got another goal from Falcicchio, with the Rink Rats still looking to get something out of this game, but Ziesse completed his hat trick from Godzilla, then Godzilla earned his hat trick from Stitt. Now 9-3, the clock was running, but John Joyce returned it to normal time from Graham and Tretola, although the Vudoo pretty much knew they would win at this point. Tretola immediately scored from Graham before a Graham hook put him in the box, and Jeremy Strausser scored shorthanded to finish it off, as the final score looked closer than it really was, with the Vudoo winning 9-6.

Tom "Godzilla" Godon and Ray "Ziesse's Peanut Butter Cup" Ziesse (each with 3G, 1A) won the Buffalo Wild Wings Man of the Match Award.
