Mark Schwanda's Late Goal Wins it for Vudoo

The Biohazards went down a man after Sean "Babyface" Feeney went off for a cross check. On their power play, the Vudoo made it count with Will "The Wild Card" Dimock's redirect on Phil Gakos' wrister from "King" George Dimock. The King would go off for roughing, but a glove save by Pete Peterson kept the Vudoo ahead, before Brian MacLean's even strength goal from The Wild Card. Even play continued with the Vudoo were unable to extend their lead as Nick Raite buckled down in the Biohazards' net; he stifled his opposition numerous times with his pads to frustrate them, with MacLean eventually going off for interference. The Vudoo lead was chopped in half on Greg "Turn Down for What" Ternlund's power play blast, but the Vudoo were successful on their kill of The Wild Card's hook. Joe Greco was assessed a roughing double minor, but the Biohazards stayed strong for the four minutes they were down; Greco eventually rewarded his team for bailing him out by evening it at 2-2, setting up a fun ending. 2:51 was left to determine a winner, or else a shootout would decide it; both Peterson and Raite stopped breakaways during this timeframe (Peterson poked Martin Rabe when he tried to deke, and Raite denied Tom Thrun with his glove). After Thrun was turned away, the Biohazards got the puck into the offensive zone, only to have Mark Schwanda gain possession and take off down the ice on the counter. Schwanda gained the blue line and cut toward the high slot, roofing one on Raite, going against the grain, for a 3-2 Vudoo lead. There was now 1:13 on the clock, 16 seconds of which were squandered before the Biohazards called timeout to reorient themselves. The Vudoo won the faceoff, killing off nearly half of the final 57 seconds before the Biohazards could pull Raite with 27 seconds to play, but ultimately the Biohazards could not muster much offense, going down 3-2.

Will "The Wild Card" Dimock (1G, 1A) and Pete Peterson (only allowing two goals) won the Hockey Haus Man of the Match Award.
