Admirals Win in Back and Forth Game in Shootout

Darren Kamikura put the Admirals up before Dan Scerra tied it for Vudoo. Mark Schwanda put one in when Jim Schwanda and Scerra hit him, but Chris Gallo equalized with a breakaway goal. Mark Schwanda scored another, but Tommy Whitney evened it up for the Admirals, 3-3. Scerra was called for slashing, but the Vudoo took the lead with a shorthanded goal by Kurt Seidel. Immediately after returning to 5-on-5, the Vudoo would go down a man when Tom Godon's trip was assessed, ultimately preventing the Admirals from scoring on their second power play. A few minutes later, Kamikura's second of the night made it 4-4, but Godon regained that Vudoo lead before Ray Ziesse finished from Mark Schwanda for the first two goal lead in this one. Jason Dychus got the Admirals to down one, then Jared Carrier tied it from Whitney, meaning it would have to be decided in a shootout.

Mason Resende of the Admirals and Pete Peterson of the Vudoo matched each other with two saves, but Resende stopped one more than Peterson, Whitney slotted home for an Admirals 7-6 shootout win.

Mark Schwanda (2G, 1A) in a losing effort, Tommy Whitney and Darren Kamikura (each with 2G) won the Hockey Haus Man of the Match Award.
