Mark Schwanda and Grace "The Ace" Dimock Huge in Vudoo Win
Thursday, November 9, 2017
Mark Schwanda scored the first two of this contest, finishing the first from Ray "Ziesse's Peanut Butter Cup" Ziesse, then burying the second after Tom Thrun hit James Woods-Corwin, who led Schwanda on a breakaway. Kurt Seidel kept it going with a goal on a pretty setup from Grace "The Ace" Dimock and Schwanda, then Tom Godon put the Vudoo up 4-0 with a shot from a tough angle. Ace Dimock then found herself in front of the net, where she slid home a Schwanda rebound, making it 5-0. Patrick Lyness finally got the Archers on the board, trying to mount some momentum, which was further seen when Toby Jones rifled one in to get the Archers to down 5-2. Woods-Corwin's slash put him in the box for two minutes, meaning the Vudoo were in danger of seeing their huge lead be reduced to two. Regaining some of that momentum from their opponent, the Vudoo killed Woods-Corwin's penalty, and kept the Archers out. A few minutes later, a Godon five minute penalty meant the Archers could get right back into this, but a fantastic kill kept the Archers out for all five minutes. Michael "The Dachshund" Malarowski's check meant he would have to sit for two minutes, and Ace Dimock's power play goal from Schwanda finished off a 6-2 Vudoo win.
Mark Schwanda (2G, 3A) won the Hockey Haus Man of the Match Award. Honorable mention to Grace "The Ace" Dimock for her performance (1G, 2A) in a Vudoo win, which puts them in third place in Division III.
