Three Points Moves Puck Pimps into First Place Tie

The Puck Pimps needed three points to tie the first place Biohazards, and with a Chris Kazluaskas goal, they were on their way to doing that. But things became rough for the Pimps, with the Vudoo scoring the next three goals: Mark Schwanda finished, Gary Len found the net, and Schwanda got another when James Woods-Corwin fed him in the slot. Sandwiched between Schwanda's first goal and Len's goal, was a hooking minor to Kazlauskas, but the Pimps, and goalie Nick Minarik killed the penalty. With 14 seconds left in the first period, Ray "Ziesse's Peanut Butter Cup" Ziesse of the Vudoo (slashing) and Sam DeMarco of the Puck Pimps (hooking) were assessed matching minors, with the score 3-1 to the Vudoo.

The next goal was a crucial one, and the Vudoo got it on a Will Dimock shot. Now up 4-1, the Vudoo felt fantastic, but in a span of 52 seconds, the Pimps got it to 4-3 when Greg Mustoe and Kazlauskas scored. Tarek Bonna got the next goal with help from Sam DeMarco. It sat at 4-4 going into the final minute of the second period, and with 40 seconds on the clock, the Pimps scored again, with Eric Racine putting them ahead. The Vudoo were groggy and needed to get to the intermission behind by only one, but with two seconds left, they went into the intermission better than that, when Pat "Crack Your Back" Mack tied it at 5-5.

While the Vudoo let their three goal lead evaporate, they were on equal ground, but it fell off a cliff in the third period. With a six goal in the period, the Pimps demonstrated why they are a contender and have a realistic chance to repeat as champion. Bonna put the Pimps ahead when Mustoe helped him, before Mustoe assisted a Kazluaskas goal. Eric Racine got his second of the night with a blast, and Kazluaskas scored on a Racine setup. Kazluaskas got his fifth of the game, and Racine ended the night with a hat trick in an 11-5 Puck Pimps win.

The Hockey Haus Man of the Match Award was won by Chris Kazlauskas (5G) and Eric Racine (3G, 1A).
