Vudoo Open Season with 8-1 Win

The Vudoo were coming off of a disappointing finish last season, while the Perch were coming to the PTAHL under a new name, dropping "Mighty," but keeping their species of fish.

James Woods-Corwin, last season's leading scorer for the Vudoo, scored his team's first two goals: The first goal was assisted by Ray "Ziesse's Peanut Butter Cup" Ziesse, and Lloyd "The Legend" Lisk, while the second goal was just assisted by Ziesse. George Dimock followed with a goal from Mark Schwanda, to send the Vudoo into the first intermission with a 3-0 lead.

Will Dimock started the second period's scoring when he scored from George Dimock, putting the Vudoo up, 4-0. The Perch pipped one back through Dennis Costello, with help from Matt Hand, getting some momentum. Less than a minute later, Jim Schwanda found George Dimock, who got the puck to Will Dimock, and he scored his second. Tom Godon put the Vudoo further ahead from George and Will Dimock, then with seven seconds left in the second, George Dimock got his second through Godon and Lisk the Legend.

The 7-1 lead meant running time, and the Vudoo were content to play excellent defense in front of their goalie, Pete Peterson. Only one goal was scored in the third, 2:55 into the period; Godon finished off the scoring from Lisk and George Dimock, and his men left with an 8-1 win.

George Dimock (2G, 3A), and Pete Peterson, who allowed a single goal, shared the Hockey Haus Man of the Match Award.
