Go Back Ooff! Shootout Win not enough to Finish Higher than Fourth

The Ooff! have been in a freefall, losing six out of seven, earning just 2/21 points. Ooff!'s form has led to them being passed by the Rink Rats and Puck Pimps, but even with this, a regulation win will have them finish second, while anything else will not be enough to move out of fourth.

Rich Hernandez scored with a Kevin Dougherty assist to start the game, and Ooff! led 1-0. At the start of the second, Pete Sims was assessed a minor penalty for slashing, and the Vudoo made the most of their chance: Ray "Ziesse's Peanut Butter Cup" Ziesse tied it through Jesse Peterson. Chris Fagan regained the lead for Ooff! on a Milton Solis assist, and Ooff! had a 2-1 lead going into the third. Pat Mack tied it, courtesy of Jim Schwanda, then Anthony Chango of Ooff!, was called for holding and slashing with 11:27 remaining. George Dimock scored to put the Vudoo ahead, but 20 seconds later, Chango tied it on a Rich Hernandez assist. 4:11 was now left on the clock, and Ooff! pressed for the win. They called timeout with five seconds left, then pulled their goalie, but could not win it in regulation. They knew they would finish fourth, and had to play in a shootout.

The first shooter for Ooff! was Kevin Dougherty, but Dean Bogner stopped him. James Woods-Corwin, the Vudoo leading scorer, beat Pete Peterson, but Daniel Michlisin answered. Pat Mack was not able to score on Bogner, giving Dan Scerra a chance to win it, but Peterson kept him out. Milton Solis was the fourth Ooff! shooter, and he put his team ahead. The Vudoo sent Kurt Seidel to tie it, but Bogner kept him out, giving Ooff! a shootout win.
