Rink Rats Whitewash Vudoo

The Rink Rats needed three points to keep pace with the Pterodactyls atop the table, while the Vudoo were looking to close the gap on the Sewer Rats for fifth place.
A little more than three minutes into the game, the Rink Rats got on the board when the division's leading scorer, Nick Graham scored on an assist from second leading scorer, Joe Maresca, Jr. Less than a minute later, Bobby Tretola increased the lead to two, until Maresca, Jr. scored, from Graham. Bill Buggele finished off the period's scoring, when Graham notched another assist, and the Rink Rats went into the second period with a 4-0 lead.
The Rink Rats, started the second period the same way they started the first, with a Graham goal. Maresca, Jr. scored again shortly after, from Buggele, who then scored his second of the game later that period from Tretola, making it 7-0 Rink Rats going into the third period.
With the game out of reach, the Rink Rats knew they could cut back on their offense to focus more on getting the shutout, and that is what they did. The only goal this period was from Buggele, his third of the game, from Maresca, Jr. Tom Castscheniold, lowered his Goals Against Average to 3.11 by getting the shutout in tonight's game, helping his team tighten the distance between themselves and the Pterodactyls, who now lead the Rink Rats by two points.
