Woods-Corwin's Hat Trick Helps Vudoos Win Opener
Monday, April 4, 2016
Playing in their first PTAHL game, Ooff would run into a familiar foe, the Vudoo. Neither team managed to score in the first period despite an Ooff powerplay, but the Vudoo would come alive in the second with a pair of goals from James Woods-Corwin. However, Chris Fagan scored Ooff's first PTAHL goal in the final minute of the period to make this a one-goal game heading into the third. Ooff battled hard for the equalizer, but they took a penalty about halfway through the third, which allowed Mark Schwanda to increase the lead to two with a power play goal. Woods-Corwin finished off a hat trick three minutes later to make it 4-1. Pete Sims scored with a minute and a half to go, but Ooff would get no closer to tying the score as the Vudoo held on for a 4-2 victory. Ooff will take on the Biohazards on Sunday, and the Vudoo will face the Puck Pimps the following day.
