Vudoo Pummeled by Pimps
Friday, February 5, 2016
This was a big game for both teams as the Puck Pimps continue to battle for second place and the Vudoo hope to stay ahead of the Rink Rats for fourth. Three minutes into the game, Eric Racine opened the scoring for the Pimps. He then added another goal three minutes after that. One minute later, Alex Russel made it 3-0 with a powerplay goal as the Pimps blanked the Vudoo in the first.
Greg Mustoe and Zach Kampf scored early in the second to make it 5-0, and John Vivino increased the lead to six goals before the Vudoo finally got on the board with a powerplay goal from Tom Godon. Mustoe then scored shorthanded to regain the six goal lead. Mark Schwanda knocked it back down to five, but Russel scored again before the period ended, sending the Puck Pimps into the third period ahead 8-2.
Looking to spark a comeback, James Woods-Corwin notched a pair of goals early in the third to bring the Vudoo back within four. However, they would get no closer as the Pimps tightened up defensively and kept the Vudoo from scoring any more goals. With four minutes remaining, Racine completed a hat trick, and he then added a fourth goal with two minutes to go. Mustoe scored in the final minute to complete a hat trick of his own, as the Pimps went on to win this game by the final of 11-4.
