Puck Pimps Batter Vudoos

The Puck Pimps battered the Vudoos 9-2 Friday nigth after winning a nine-round shoot out four days before. It didn't take too long for the Puck Pimps to establish their offense as Myles Gellate opened the scoring at 9:07 of the first and dealt a heavy blow to the already fragile confidence of the Vudoo. The animosity between these teams boiled over when Tom Thrun took a run at the Pimps back-up goalie who in turn took a swipe at him and gave the two teams matching minors. Talk is cheap and words flew like they were on the Mcdonalds' dollar menu but all the scathing words in the world wouldn't stop Greg Mustoe from finally getting his first goal of the season and his two hundredth career as a Puck Pimp but the celebration would have to be put on ice as the game heated up going into the second period. Phil Gakos scored both Vudoo goals.

The Puck Pimps continued to pressure the Vudoo but goaltender Pete Peterson did a good job staying in front of the puck hoping to give his team time to mount an attack. Unfortunately Eric Racine found the puck on his tape and deposited it on the far side of the goal line to give his team the three goal advantage and under forty seconds later John Vivino added a fourth marker to the score board. Once again these two teams disdain for each other came to a head as George Dimock and Dan Panella took matching roughing doubles and had to spend a long time cooling off in the penalty boxes. Taking swift advantage of the emotionally charged game Phil Gakos scored at 5:32 to put his team on the board and once more at 3:45 to cut the Pimps lead in half. Seeing his team getting dragged down into a slugfest Charlie "The Onion" Cunion settled his team down with a strong late period goal to restore a three goal lead at 5-2.

Vivino started the third period off with a bang as he slammed the puck home early, only two and a half minutes in, to give his team a commanding 6-2 lead. The Puck Pimps continued their all out offensive with Alex Russel scoring at 7:04 to put the Vudoo in the metaphoric hurt locker. Panella powered through the defense to put the puck in the net and give his team an 8-2 lead a few minutes later as hopes of a come back for the Vudoo became less and less likely. As time on the clock waned Russel scored his second and drove home the final nail in the coffin of the Vudoo to give the game a final score of 9-2. The Pimps will take on the last place Pterodactyls next on the strength of two victories under their belts as the Vudoo look to right the ship against the Rink Rats.
