Woods-Corwin's Late Heroics Give Vudoo Another Comeback Win This game between the Vudoo and the Rink Rats lived up to its billing as a nailbiter between two South Division contenders. The Vudoo took an early lead with a goal from Tom Godon. They held this lead for much of the period, but late goals by Christian Larrabee and Nick Graham reversed the lead as the Rink Rats went up 2-1 just before the end of the first. Joe Maresca, Jr. increased the lead to two goals early in the second, but Corey Wendling brought the Vudoo back within one. Nick Graham added two goals to complete a hat trick and put the Rats up 5-2. However, James Woods-Corwin scored to bring the Vudoo within a pair of goals with one period left to play. Tom Thrun scored five and a half minutes into the third to cut the deficit to just one goal. Just over a minute later, James Woods-Corwin scored his second of the night to tie the game at five. Following the script of their previous game, Woods-Corwin once again followed up his tying goal with a late go-ahead goal to finish a hat trick. The Rats called a timeout and pulled their goalie for an extra skater, but to no avail as the Vudoo held on for a 6-5 win. Opponents will need to keep an eye on Woods-Corwin, especially late in the game as he has now come through in the clutch with hat tricks in two consecutive games including late tying and winning goals.
